Dan moved to Chicago shortly after graduating from the Florida State University School of Theater, and started studying at the iO Theater (formerly known as The ImprovOlympic Theater), where he became a fixture of the iO community for 10 years.
While at iO, Dan made a name himself by performing alongside his teacher, Miles Stroth, in the groundbreaking two-person improv show, ZUMPF, then helping form and play in the legendary improv groups, 4Square and Train Wreck. Dan eventually was hired by The Second City where he performed and co-wrote their 90th Main Stage revue, Doors Open on the Right.
Eventually Dan moved to New York when he was hired to work on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, where he served as a correspondent from 2005 to 2007. After leaving The Daily Show in 2007, he moved to Los Angeles where he has since had supporting roles in the films such as Observe and Report, The Heat, and This Is 40, made guest appearances on tv shows like 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Newsreaders, and The United States of Tara, as well as appearing in recurring roles as “Murray the A/C Repairman” in season three of Community and currently as Congressman Furlong on HBO’s hit comedy, Veep. Dan is currently starring alongside Jim Jeffries and DJ Qualls in the FX comedy series Legit,
